About this deal

It is very fun to experiment with Mod Podge and it can be an addictive craft, so you have been warned! haha. Inkjet – Print the picture onto the paper and let it dry for at least ten minutes. Spray both sides of the paper with clear acrylic sealer (several coats) and let it dry.

It is Glossy – so shiny. You can see what a Mod Podge glossy finish looks like here. 4. What sizes does the formula come in? Permanent adhesive vinyl will hold up when hand-washed and can be run through the dishwasher... usually. It depends on your dishwasher and how rough it is with your dishes honestly. Even when you CAN dishwash your vinyl mugs, over time and after repeated washings, your vinyl may start to peel. So if you plan on cleaning your mugs regularly in a dishwasher, you can do that by sealing them with Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe Sealer. So while I can’t *technically* say the product is permanent, you’re going to have a hard time removing it. Do you need to seal Mod Podge?Clean with warm soapy water if the item is small – or use rubbing alcohol and cotton balls, especially if the item is larger. 10. Can I still use the formula on wood? I use a “medium” coat when applying one surface to another. By medium, I mean that I can visibly see the white completely covering the surface. Some inks are permanent; some are not. Ink must be dry before you try to seal it. For those that are not permanent, the preferred product is a spray sealer. Glaze can be used if inks are sealed or permanent. Otherwise, they will smudge and smear. Micro Glaze is the p erfect choice for use on paper crafting projects, watercolors, and ink jet printing. How to seal Acrylic Paint So even though you may have creases in your transfer tape, you won’t have creases in the vinyl. This is the secret to putting vinyl around a curved surface like this. And if you don't have a curved surface, this is even easier. There are waterproof/enamel sealers on the market (ask at your local hardware store). I’ve also heard that Minwax Polycrylic is amazing for sealing and making Mod Podged items waterproof. Do you know of a good non-toxic sealer I can use?

Have patience. Don’t rush the project. Put the kids down for a nap and take your time. You MUST allow for proper dry time to avoid wrinkles. Gel Medium: Easy to apply. Good protection. Gloss and Matte finishes. Can be tinted. Adhesive qualities. Protects against fingerprints. Application: Brush on a thin layer and allow it to dry. Cons: Visible brushstrokes. TIP: A sponge brush or roller can alleviate brush marks.

Basic Sealers

Very thin coats are the key to the smoothest possible finish, but keep in mind that you’ll never be able to get a completely smooth surface with Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe sealer. I also recommend using the sealer on light-colored mugs because the brush strokes will be more visible on dark colored mugs. Get my free SVG files to Create a Cricut Mug with Funny Faces Painting with a brush allows for excellent control, good adhesion, and even, uniform coverage. It is slower than spraying and two coats are often required. Generally, it is vital to give the sealer adequate time to finish curing before using the finished craft. Alternately, you may apply Mod Podge® to the area and let it dry completely (to speed up drying, you may use a hairdryer set on low). Then place the Napkin onto the surface in the desired position. Cover the Napkin with a piece of parchment paper and iron (on the cotton setting) to adhere the Napkin to the surface. Allow the parchment paper to cool and then remove. The Mod Podge® will melt and adhere the image to the surface. The advantage of this technique is that you can move the image until you iron it down. Also, the Napkin will not tear or show bubbles, and it will be completely flat like the surface it is on. Again, finish with a coat of Mod Podge® on top.

If you are using Mod Podge on fabric-to-fabric (for instance, gluing a patch to a shirt) then yes, you should use the Fabric formulabecause it is washable. Any tips for Mod Podging fabric/using Fabric Mod Podge?Mod Podge is a craft supply made up of several ingredients, including vinyl acetate. The combination produces a product that is somewhat water resistant, but not waterproof. One of the most common questions I get on this blog from readers is, “Is Mod Podge waterproof for coasters?” You can’t submerge an item that’s been Podged with Outdoor for an extended period of time, so it’s not technically “waterproof.” But it’s really, really close.
