About this deal

It aims to offer buyers on a budget a reliable cabled headset for prolonged gaming sessions. I had the opportunity to use the headset for about two weeks with my PC, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Here’s how I got on. Design and Features As a simple stereo headset, the A10 doesn't offer any sort of simulated surround sound like the Astro A40 and A50, or the Logitech G433. You don't get a very good sense of directional imaging with this headset, which can offer a bit of benefit when playing first-person games. The surround sound effect produced by higher-end gaming headsets is generally accomplished by audio processing and mixing between the stereo drivers for each ear, and aren't ever as precise or realistic as a dedicated surround sound speaker system due to the simple limits of acoustics; these headsets can create good panning effects between left, center, and right, but don't give any real sense of sound coming in front of or behind you. This tightness didn't deter me from using the A10 for hours at a time, but my ears needed a few seconds to decompress after long sessions. Unlike the HyperX Cloud Stinger and Logitech G231 Prodigy, the A10's ear cups don't swivel 90 degrees to automatically conform to your dome. You can adjust the A10's ear cups about 2 inches up or down for a better fit, but even after tweaking the height, the headset simply felt too snug for me. Astro A10 review: Audio performance The headband fits so much better thanks to the larger cushion. I could hardly feel the weight of the headset at all, making it perfect for long game sessions.

Still, if you prefer Astro's design, want more color options and can live with some snug cans, there's a lot to love about the A10. Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame. Featuring premium materials and construction, the A10 Headset is adjustable, flexible, and surprisingly lightweight.

The Astro A10 is an impressive budget gaming headset that offers solid audio and a slick design for just $60.

Though I usually prefer a headset with a good clamping force so that they remain in place, which is the case with the A10s, I did feel the need to move the headset off every now and then to let a bit of that pressure off and let my ears breathe. The good news is that the cushions are ridiculously comfortable so I didn’t experience any discomfort over the few hours I wore them. A huge part of this 2022 headset is its enhanced flexible and durable build. Unlike most gaming headsets I’ve tested, I couldn’t find any flimsy or delicate fixtures or joints that could break when applying a little pressure. The volume can be adjusted on the headset wire as it’s completely wired anyway. Plus, all of the audio settings can be adjusted within your PC or console settings, removing the need for Bluetooth and power buttons. This way, I enjoyed a nice and clean rounded look that didn’t disrupt the space-age design. It also ensured that I didn’t accidentally press any controls when adjusting the headset for consistent, uninterrupted operation. Enhanced sound quality: ASTRO Gaming A10 Gen 2 Headset for Xbox features custom-tuned 32mm dynamic drivers so you can always hear your game and teammates with clarity and precision. The second-generation Astro A10 (Gen 2) is the successor to the original Astro A10 headset, coming in at the same low price but with an overhauled design.

The A10 comes in variations of blue, green and red that are aimed at Xbox One, PS4 and PC players, respectively, though all versions work fine with any platform. The headset's 6.5-foot cable has a handy in-line volume slider and is fully detachable, making it ideal for travel. Astro A10 review: ComfortFlip-to-mute, uni-directional microphone and in-line volume control so you're always in command of your communication. The Astro A10 Gen 2 doesn’t have a mute button; instead, you can achieve the same effect using a clever feature that mutes your audio input whenever you flip the built-in microphone upwards away from your face. While we would have preferred a mute button, it's good the Astro A10 has a mute function since this is a feature that often finds itself omitted from budget headsets.

Audio quality was pretty similar across devices. I could move from my PS5 to my Switch without audio dipping or sounding completely different. This makes the Astro A10 Gen 2 headset super-accessible and a great choice for anyone who likes to play across multiple platforms.Integrated boom microphone with flip-to-mute capability. In-line volume control: This Xbox gaming headset features a removable headphone cable with in-line volume control, letting you adjust audio without pausing the game. Flexible, lightweight materials and cloth ear cushions means you never have to worry about headset fatigue shutting your game down before you're ready. Taking a look at the design, we have a space-age looking shape with a great combination of rounded corners and angular edges. Compared to the original set, I noticed a lot of improvements that Logitech have made to the overall look, such as shaving down the side for a closer fit to the head as well as reducing the height of the mic arm to give it a more subtle silhouette. As you’d expect from an entry-level headset, the 3mm audio cable included with the device is unwoven and therefore more prone to twisting and tearing. The good news is that the audio cable is removable, so if worse comes to worst, you could always buy a cheap replacement without having to bin the entire headset. Astro A10 Gen 2 audio and microphone quality Tuned for Gaming, ASTRO Audio was developed with pro gamers and game designers to deliver clarity and detail at every frequency and volume level.

Durable steel headband with damage resistant rubberised cover with detachable cable system designed to withstand victory & defeat. The cable itself is 2m long, and it does come with a PC splitter cable. I prefer a wireless connection for the purposes of convenience, but at least the cable length here proved long enough for me to play comfortably.
