About this deal

You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do.

i bought this to read to my beaver colony but obviously had to test run it (after the mistake a few years ago thinking the harry potter fairy tale one would be suitable 🙈). Great book for parents to read to a Primary school age child, especially if they already know the stories that it’s based on. Here we have Sleeping Brainy, Mouldysocks and the Three Bears, Jack and the Baked Beanstalk……you probably get the picture. Or perhaps you’d enjoy Jack and the Baked Bean Stalk who awakened from a Trumplestiltskin nightmare to discover a slimy orange plant climbing up to the sky? You won't forget the lingering stench of Mouldysocks - a boy obsessed with staring at his iPad but rather less obsessed with personal hygiene - and you'll be rooting for Rap-Unzel when she gets the chance of fame by appearing on Kingdom's Got Talent, but at what cost?

In hardback format the book is an impressive heavyweight tome and one to cherish for future generations. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated!

The stories are funny and characters are not typical stereotypes such as a damsels in distress that are saved by brave handsome princes. Habe nach drei Geschichten abgebrochen, werde vielleicht später immer wieder eine Geschichte zwischenschieben. Meet Trumplestiltskin , a vain and gold-obsessed little man who will stop at nothing to become richer and richer.Konnie Huq is already well known to older children and adults as a Blue Peter presenter, and more recently to younger fans as the author and illustrator of the Cookie books. You won’t forget the lingering stench of Mouldysocks – a boy obsessed with staring at his iPad but rather less obsessed with personal hygiene – and you’ll be rooting for Rap-Unzel when she gets the chance of fame by appearing on Kingdom’s Got Talent, but at what cost? Whilst my four-year-old enjoyed being read to, I think children aged 8+ (or whenever they're confident readers) will get the most from the book. This time she has left the illustrations to Rikin Parekh, who has done an excellent job of matching her style to the prose. However, I’m not sure how you might feel about reading that Mouldysocks loved playing games such as Mario Fart, (there is liberal use of the word throughout the tales which many will feel is playing for cheap laughs) and whilst you might secretly smile at Trumplestiltskin with its thinly veiled dig at a certain American President, you might also be concerned about sharing your views so liberally. Told in the fresh, vibrant and unique voice of Blue Peter favourite Konnie Huq, writing with James Kay, and packed full of irresistible illustrations by Rikin Parekh, FEARLESS FAIRY TALES is the perfect hardback gift for young readers (and older readers fed up with serving their kids the same old boring bedtime stories). Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.Hotjar sets this cookie to know whether a user is included in the data sampling defined by the site's pageview limit.

Packed with stories about boys who aren't afraid to cry and rhymes about girls who refuse to kiss frogs, FEARLESS FAIRY TALES shakes up dusty, old-fashioned (and, to be honest, rather sexist) bedtime stories and totally reinvents them for the twenty-first century. I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic! Stories such as Sleeping Brainy who is so outraged by the hiring of a royal tutor that she conjures ‘ a cunning plan from thin air‘?

A hilarious and anarchic collection of classic bedtime stories for young readers, all utterly updated for a new generation - now in paperback format. From fake news to female footballers, environmental pollution to equal pay, nothing is off limits in this anthology of laugh-out-loud fairy tales with thoroughly modern morals. Or how about Trumplestiltskin, an angry, orange man with ridiculous hair who is obsessed with getting richer and richer?
